We are a practising chartered firm. We manage commercial property, handle service charges and advise on leases and asset management. We have adopted AI across every part of that practice ourselves. So when we help a client do the same, we are speaking from experience, not theory.
Our digital consultancy, Hillway Digital, helps property and professional-services firms adopt and implement AI. Same company. Same directors. One set of RICS standards. We find the highest-value use cases, put the tools in place, and embed them into daily work through three engagement models: Build, Embed and Evolve. AI sits at the core of our toolkit. Matt is the founder and Managing Director of Hillway, a chartered surveyor (MRICS) with over two decades in commercial property. He leads the firm's strategy and technology direction, and advises clients on how to get more from AI and technology alongside asset management and commercial property.
Jamie Smyth
Director
MRICS
Jamie is a Chartered Surveyor with over 20 years' experience in property investment, development and asset management. He has built and scaled a privately funded property portfolio and multiple operating businesses across South Yorkshire, each designed to operate independently through strong systems, technology and people. At Hillway, Jamie leads the growth of Hillway Digital, our PropTech and digital transformation division, helping property businesses work smarter through AI-powered tools, platform strategy and bespoke digital solutions.
Daniel Campbell
Director
Daniel is a chartered surveyor with over a decade in UK commercial property. He qualified at Cushman & Wakefield before moving into investment agency in Manchester, acting on deals for major institutional clients. He now runs Trakr, a PropTech business he founded, and brings deep surveying and agency experience alongside hands-on technical delivery. He knows where the real friction lies in the industry and how to turn it into tools that solve genuine problems.
Liam Hughes
Director
Liam joins Hillway as a Director, bringing a career across commercial finance and business advisory. He has built a strong network of owner-managed businesses, developers and property investors across South Yorkshire and the wider region. At Hillway, Liam leads commercial origination and client partnerships, connecting his network with the firm's chartered surveying and PropTech capabilities.
Alex Brazier
Graduate Surveyor
Alex is developing his surveying career at Hillway, gaining hands-on experience across commercial property and asset management. Working closely with the senior team, he is building a strong foundation in RICS professional standards while embracing the technology-led approach that sets Hillway apart. He supports clients across the portfolio and is working towards his professional qualifications.
Katie Hunt
Finance Director
Katie oversees Hillway's financial operations, managing the company accounts, bookkeeping and financial administration that keep the practice running smoothly. Her meticulous approach ensures accuracy, compliance and transparency across every part of the business. Katie also leads on Xero integration and the financial workflow automation that keeps the firm's reporting fast and accurate.

The firm grows
Hillway develops and rolls out a range of technology projects, in-house and for clients. A training platform launches. Doncaster office opens. Jamie Smyth joins as Director.
Hillway Digital launches
The firm's technology and AI consultancy is formalised across three engagement models: Build, Embed and Evolve, alongside a growing book of client projects across the UK. Daniel Campbell and Liam Hughes join as Directors, and the Manchester office opens.
